The Tampa Airport Marriott has undergone some extensive remodeling as part of a multi-million dollar renovation effort. As it gets ready to celebrate 50 years in business in 2023, the hotel unveiled a new look, designed by CRA Design of Los Angeles, including updates to all 17 meeting rooms. The updated design features curved forms and natural woven materials. The hotel has also enjoyed a security upgrade, with the introduction of RFID keycard door locks. In a press release, General Manager Scott McClinton said “meeting participants can see the terminals … which lends an exciting vibe of movement and flight.”
400 Central, a 46-story mixed-use building due to be completed in spring 2025, will be the tallest residential tower on Florida’s Gulf Coast. At 515 feet, the tower will offer incredible views from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. According to their website, 400 Central will offer the ideal home for “residents who enjoy an active urban lifestyle in the center of it all.” The residence will offer a number of amenities, including on-site concierge, a resort-style pool deck, a dog walking area and secured parking with valet.
The Tampa-based farm-to-table company Naked Farmer is set to expand both locally and statewide. The company, which strives to source food locally and deliver the freshest seasonal produce to its customers, opened its third store on the east coast of Florida in Coral Gables, with locations four and five coming in January and summer 2023 respectively. Its first two stores are located in downtown St. Pete and Water Street Tampa. Naked Farms founder Jordan Johnson originally planned to open his first Naked Farmer restaurant on April 1 2020; for obvious reasons, he needed to alter his business model, and so the Naked Farmer’s Market was born. “Once we realized that this thing is coming and it’s going to change the world as we know it, we decided to postpone the grand opening and make as fast a pivot as possible to be as helpful to the community as possible,” he said when he spoke to the Business Observer in May 2020.

The company’s growth has been facilitated by a $300 million fundraising round in 2021.
A Tampa tech company has received a $14 million investment. HSP Group, which assists businesses in expanding their global presence, raised the money in a Series B fundraising round led by ABS Capital. Since it was founded in 2020, HSP has received more than $20 million in investment. Founder and CEO Larry Harding stated in a press release that “HSP is the only provider committed to delivering all the people and entity solutions needed for global expansion, in every country, throughout the world.”
