Business Expansion and Partnerships in Tampa
A family-owned car wash business based in Tampa has expanded its operations to Sarasota and Bradenton. Locations 15 and 16 of Woodie’s Wash Shack will open at 13825 State Road 70 E. in Bradenton and 6612 University Parkway in Sarasota. Vice President of Marketing and Sales Jake DeGeare said the company is “excited to continue growing and sharing the Woodie’s vibe with the Sarasota (and) Bradenton communities.” The self-service car wash offers memberships to its users and car washes feature a tunnel for extended wash times.
Global Tampa Bay business leaders and representatives from five Tampa Bay companies recently visited the Dominican Republic for four days in order to carry out meetings with businesses there. The country is the fourth most popular destination for Florida’s merchandising exports. The visit has spawned sales worth over $15 million, which will take place over the next 12 months. Bill Cronin, chairman of Global Tampa Bay and CEO of Pasco County Economic Development Council, referred to the trip as a “successful mission” and described “concrete sales and new contracts”.
Israeli cybersecurity company Cybecs is planning to open regional headquarters in Tampa. According to its website, the company offers solutions for avoiding and countering cyber threats, in the form of certain products, services and training. Cybecs CEO Asaf Levy said: “We’re excited to build a strong team in Tampa, tapping into the deep pool of tech talent that this growing city has to offer.” The development will lead to the creation of 150 jobs across the next three years and will be based in downtown Tampa. Other cybersecurity companies that have recently expanded their operations to Tampa include Rapid7, OPSWAT, and Ridgeline International.

Two beachfront houses in Pinellas County are now on the market; one’s located on Clearwater Beach and the other in Belleair Shores, and the asking prices are $6.99 million and $10.5 million respectively. Both properties boast extraordinary features, like a butler’s kitchen, waterfalls, fire pits, and stunning views across the Gulf of Mexico.
Tampa Bay’s Exciting Future
Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida have teamed up to develop a new nursing simulation lab at the university’s Health College of Nursing. The lab will allow trainees to hone their skills and will offer 12 clinical examination rooms, a multipurpose learning lab, and six debriefing classrooms. The hospital will invest $4.4 million over six years, which will go towards all aspects of the project, from planning to completion.
A new report has shown that Florida is a significant leader in convincing wealthy millennials to relocate here. The report, by travel content provider Upgraded Points, revealed that the uptick in those relocating to the Sunshine State has brought in almost $7 billion in its tax base. The Covid-19 pandemic may have something to do with things: the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 27.5% of workers were working from anywhere other than an office, some or all of the time. Because of the increased ability to work remotely since the pandemic, workers are free to move interstate. In 2021, Florida, along with Texas, became home to 15,000 people who each earned a salary of more than $200,000.
