Let’s take a look at everything that’s happening in the Tampa Bay area, what’s coming up in the next few weeks and months, and how Ready Stays is here for your month-to-month rental needs in Tampa.
Business Innovation in Tampa
St. Petersburg is set to welcome a major new corporate neighbor in Dynasty Financial Partners. The company has unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art national headquarters at 400 Central Avenue. Slated for completion in late 2026, the new HQ will accommodate over 300 employees and feature a custom trading floor, content studio, and rooftop event space. Dynasty’s move solidifies St. Pete’s reputation as a hub for financial innovation and business growth. The company’s leadership emphasizes that the new space is designed to foster collaboration and creativity. Shirl Penney, CEO, President and Founder of Dynasty Financial Partners, also said: “we aim to be great corporate citizens who align with the community’s economic development for decades to come. With this lease we are doubling down on St. Petersburg, not only as our corporate headquarters, but as the central hub for our growing national network.”
Arnie Bellini, founder of ConnectWise, has donated $1.5 million to St. Leo University in Pasco County. The generous gift will fund the university’s first dedicated cybersecurity scholarship, expanding opportunities for students and supporting workforce development in a high-demand field. Bellini’s commitment to cybersecurity education is well-known; earlier this year, he and his wife contributed $40 million to the University of South Florida for the Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Computing. The new scholarship at St. Leo will help train the next generation of cyber professionals, addressing urgent workforce needs and reinforcing Tampa Bay’s status as a leader in tech talent development. Bellini explained in a statement: “Right here in the Tampa Bay region, the demand for skilled cyber professionals is immediate and urgent — and the jobs are high-paying and high-impact. St. Leo has proven itself as a powerhouse in cyber education, and this investment will amplify their impact and accelerate the pipeline of talent.”
Tampa: Hub of Culture and Community
A treasured piece of St. Petersburg’s history is getting a new lease on life. The Manhattan Casino, a landmark known for its rich cultural legacy, is set to undergo a $5 million renovation. The project aims to restore the venue’s iconic status as a gathering place for music, community events, and celebrations. During its long and exciting history, the Casino has played host to such legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, and James Brown. The renovation will preserve the building’s historic character while introducing modern amenities to serve future generations. The Manhattan Casino has long been a symbol of resilience and community pride, and this investment ensures it will continue to play a vital role in St. Pete’s cultural landscape for years to come. St. Pete City Councilman Corey Givens shared his thoughts, stating that the project will revitalize the local economy,” describing the prospect of having a venue in South St. Pete that can hold up to 500 people as “pretty incredible.”
Mama G’s Bakery is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in St. Petersburg. The Bakery and Coffeehouse started life as a small bakery near Sarasota-Bradenton Airport, and has since grown to a family-run empire of German delicacies, with four locations now operating across the Bay area. On the menu are cinnamon rolls, plum and cherry danishes, potato pancakes, strudels, and German-style sourdough bread. Whether you’re a fan of European sweet treats or just looking for a cozy spot to relax, Mama G’s is a must-visit.
Tampa Bay Looks to the Future
The Tampa Bay Rays have received an offer from another potential buyer. Founder of a Memphis hedge fund, Trip Miller, created a group that has made an all-cash offer to Rays owner Stuart Sternberg. Miller said he would be “waiting in the wings” in the event that the purchase offer from Patrick Zalupski, founder, chairman and CEO of Dream Finders Homes, falls through. He also said he is “willing to offer more”, adding tension to an already compelling battle of the buyers. According to Sportico, Zalupski’s offer was around $1.7 million. Fans hope that whoever buys the team will focus on giving it a new stadium, after their home at Tropicana Field was damaged during Hurricane Milton.
Hillsborough Community College will be rebranding and changing its name to Hillsborough College. The move comes after several other community colleges in the state have dropped the ‘Community’, with many using ‘State’ instead, as a way to display expanded educational offerings. Florida lawmakers are considering making the change formal with Senate Bill SB 1624. A name change will represent the College’s focus on offering more bachelor’s degree programs.
