Coca Cola Florida has bought a 400,000-square-foot warehouse in Polk County, in a $30 million investment. The warehouse is located in Winter Haven’s Central Florida Intermodal Logistics Center, and has access to Interstate 4, U.S. 27 and State Road 60. In a release, the company said that the investment “positions the company to meet the demands of the fast-growing customer and consumer base of Polk County and surrounding areas.” Coke Florida currently employs 200 people at the new warehouse, and has plans to hire at least 100 more in the coming months. It serves 20 million customers in 47 counties, including Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Jacksonville.
Water Street Tampa, the $3 billion development in downtown Tampa, will be gaining an exciting new restaurant, from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. The restaurant company, which currently operates Ocean Prime Tampa, will open The Pearl, a restaurant, tavern and oyster room. On offer will be entrees, sharing plates and oysters, as well as cocktails, wines, lagers, ales and stouts. It’s due to open next year at luxury apartment complex, The Heron. Founder and CEO Cameron Mitchell said he’s “thrilled to bring The Pearl to Water Street Tampa and to join the exciting new growth that’s taking place in the area”.
The second phase of development work is due to begin on Altura Bayshore, the luxury condominium tower currently being built in Tampa. Construction on the 23-story tower is underway, and foundation work is being prepared. Development group Ronto say that 50% of the units in the building have been sold, with several floors only having a single unit left. Building work is expected to be completed in 2023. Ronto also said the tower will be the only one in the area with a ‘rooftop experience’, with a pool, outdoor bar and clubroom.
