Let’s take a look at everything that’s happening in the Tampa Bay area, what’s coming up in the next few weeks and months, and how Ready Stays is here for your month-to-month rental needs in Tampa.
Come and Visit Tampa; everybody else is!
Let’s start with some extremely positive news: tourism numbers in Tampa and Hillsborough County are up! Visit Tampa Bay revealed that the rising numbers have led to almost $1.1 billion in taxable hotel revenue, in the area’s best fiscal year ever. President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay, Santiago C. Corrada, told the Business Observer that, during 2023, the company booked over 630,000 rooms for visitors in future years. Many factors influenced such a successful year for Tampa Bay, including the fact that Taylor Swift played three concerts at the Raymond James Stadium in April, which led to 93% of Hillsborough County’s 26,000 hotel rooms being booked for those nights.

Businesses Love Tampa
One of the region’s largest financial services institutions, Achieva Credit Union, is hiring staff to work at two new branches, as well as a call center. The new branches will be located in Naples, on Thomasson Drive and Naples Blvd, and are due to open in early 2024.
Prominent law firm Bartlett Loeb Hinds Thompson & Angelos has plans to move its Tampa office to the Thousand & One Tower, located in the Water Street district. Specializing in business litigation, the firm has leased a 5,346-square-foot space on the fourth floor of the tower. It’s currently located at the Regions Building, 100 W. Kennedy Blvd. It also has offices in Stuart, Florida, and Austin, Texas.
Construction on Tampa’s new luxury tower, the Pendry Tampa and Pendry Residences has officially begun after a ceremonial groundbreaking. A part of Montage International, a Californian chain of hotels, resorts, and residences, Pendry has properties located throughout the United States, including in Laguna Beach, California, and Kapalua Bay, Hawaii. The tower in Tampa will offer 220 hotel rooms, an upscale restaurant, and a rooftop bar overlooking the Hillsborough River, among other amenities specifically for businesses.
Tampa Way of Life
A new animal hospital in Clearwater has revealed that it will allow owners to stay the night with their sick pets. The Veterinary Emergency Group has opened its third animal hospital in Tampa Bay and is already planning its fourth. Operational in 21 states, the group is the only national emergency care provider to allow owners to stay with their pets as they’re being cared for. Medical Director Kevin Kelley, explaining the group’s ROVER (radical open veterinary emergency room) style, said: “You are greeted by a receptionist and you are already right there in the middle of the treatment area”. According to Kelley, the group makes “owners part of the team” and “if we have an animal that needs flow-by oxygen, we have the owners holding (the mask).”
The Live Local Act, legislation that seeks to increase the amount and availability of affordable housing, is already having an impact on local communities. Developers are making use of the law’s funds and provisions, which has led to projects that were previously deemed unworthy to have broken ground. It’s hoped that, in the long term, the act will provide more available housing, while also benefiting developers with previously struggling projects.
